Le jardin de l'évêché ( the bishop's garden)

Wonderful walk area where stone and verdure superbly and delicately make one. This garden is a feast of colours and odours, a real peaceful and relaxing vegetable kingdom.
Located on the bishop's palace terraces, now turned as a museum ,and nearby the Cathedral, it spreads on 3 levels and sheltered a 19000 m2 beautiful garden offering to your eyes thousand of plants from all continents.

1- the thematic garden:
Plants are classified by fonctions like medicinals, odoriferous, aromatics, toxics, etc... In the middle, 3 ponds with aquatic plants.

2- the systematic garden:
1200 plants classified by botanical families.

3- The local wild vegetation.


Le parc Victor Thuillat ( the Victor Thuillat park)

5 hectars of verdure and flowers crossed by an english-style river. It's the favourite place for wedding photographers. You can also find differents species of superb trees from around the world.


Differents vallies and the Vienne's borders
The Auzette valley on the left side of the Vienne river.
The Aurence valley with the Uzurat lake and its 3 parks : the moulin-Pinard, the Aurence and the Mas-Jambost.
The arranged paths on the Vienne's borders are the favourite city dwellers' s walk area.
In a wonderful setting dominated by the majestic Cathedral and between two bridges ( St Etienne and St Martial), you will, following seasons, observe a large and varieted population of migratory birds.

Le jardin d'Orsay (The Orsay garden)   The champ de juillet  
Close by the bandstad, stand superb chestnut trees who escaped from the 1999's big storm. It spread their roots to the ruins of the roman arena, who is now wholly covered.

3 hectars of verdure, very elaborated floral frescos and a big pond reflecting the famous train station's architecture.
